The Pacific Digital Library has been a labour of love for five years. PKL has journeyed alongside Pacific communities to create nearly 400 animated songs, stories, dances and phrases in 11 Pacific languages and English.

However, our community has repeatedly told us - we want more content, in more languages, and we want it NOW!

We're on a mission to build the Pacific Digital Library into a thriving global repository of Pacific language and heritage content - but we can't do it alone! The vision is bigger than us.

We are now opening registrations for expressions of interest (EOI) for everyone who wants to collaborate with us and have their content featured on the Pacific Digital Library.

Who should register an EOI?

We want to hear from members of the Pacific community who want to share cultural heritage and language content with the youth of their community.

You can be an individual, a team, or an organisation.

You may have:

• An idea for content
• A draft/finished script or song
• A finished piece of content ready to go live

No matter what stage your content is at, no matter whether you're an experienced creator or new to the game - we want to hear from you.

What kind of content are we looking for?

Our flagship content has always been children's stories and songs. We welcome more of these, but we're also looking for a variety of content depending on what our community wants to share.

Some things our audience wants to see:

• Online kids language courses
• Character-based series
• Handicraft making content
• Variety show-type episodes
• Pacific history, myths and legends
• Animated, live action, motion graphics or a mix of formats

Content will be assessed for alignment with our content strategy.

Authenticity and accuracy of language is of the utmost importance and content may be QAd by our panel of cultural/language advisors.

What funding support can we offer?

We can offer bespoke support according to the needs of our collaborators.

Depending on funding availability, PKL may:

• Work with you to co-create your content
• Commission your content/ assist with production funding
• Offer to include your idea in a joint funding application (we'll always check with you first)
• Host your self-funded content on the Pacific Digital Library

Registering to this EOI will enable PKL to keep you in mind when aligned funding opportunities arise.

What is the timeframe for production?

This is a rolling application; there is no deadline and content proposals will be picked up as and when funding permits. However, we recommend registering interest as soon as possible to ensure you're in consideration for new and upcoming projects.
